What volunteers and interns say

Testimonials

Camp is such an important part of a child’s life and I’m lucky enough to be able to work year-round to help create this experience for a small fraction of campers. Volunteering with ACA, NY and NJ allows me to expand this impact to more campers and staff members through a variety of camps and outlets. Not only have I been able to meet and engage with so many interesting people, I am able to continue to learn and improve myself in the process!
Hannah Wasserman, Eagles Landing Day Camp
Volunteering for ACA, NY & NJ has been such a meaningful part of my professional journey. It’s given me the chance to build lasting connections with other camp professionals who understand the joys and challenges of this work. I love being able to share my experiences and also learn from others as we work together to shape best practices and the future of our industry. It’s also been a great space for me to stretch and grow my leadership skills in ways the feel both supportive and impactful. And probably the best part is that I’ve found my own group of “camp friends”--a network of people who love this work just as much as I do.
Jackie Brethel, Camp Kippewa Point
Volunteering for Tri-State connects me with incredible people and allows me to play a small part in making a real impact on the camp community. In giving my time, I feel like I have gained so much both personally and professionally (plus the snacks at the meeting are always great and you sometimes get some free stickers!)
Carly Meltzer, Camp Wicosuta
I enjoy being part of the Tri-State Camp Conference because of the people I am around who are committed to making camps better for camp communities. Every time I go, I leave learning what goes into being a camp professional as well as what goes into making large events successful. The environment is welcoming and a perfect place to get real experience in the hospitality and event industry.
